For 28 years, the Roosevelt Hotel Bar has remained true to its original vision: a place where you can simply be yourself, hang out, have a nice drink, and a good conversation. We’re a small family-operated bar, inside a stunning 17th-century building, an exquisite blend of historic and modern indulgence.

Although we've become more than just a bar, we have welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the globe, sharing the The Big Easy’s living history and preserving New Orleans tradition.

If our walls could speak, they would echo with tales of travelers from across the globe—those who sought to live like locals for a while and others whose hearts were forever captured.

A Humble Spot with A Respectful Nod to our Block’s History in New Orleans.

The Roosevelt Hotel Bar was founded in 1997 and opened for business in 1998. At the time, the big hotel next door was the Fairmont Hotel. Our founder, Mr. George, picked the name, "The Roosevelt Hotel Bar" as sort of a "tongue in cheek" left handed joke. The Fairmont Hotel had been named the Fairmont Hotel for over 60 years at the time. It was only the old Huey Long stories and myths that kept the buildings previous name, the Roosevelt Hotel, alive. So we had fun with it. Being the only real "Roosevelt" business in the book, we would get calls every week from some very old folks talking about their family events and weddings held at the "Roosevelt" back in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. When the hotel next door reacquired the "Roosevelt" name they started a dustup with us over our name; but their building had abandoned the name some time back in the 1900s. We like to feel we are good neighbors with the new Roosevelt Hotel. We are not affiliated with the Roosevelt Hotel or the Waldorf Astoria.

We play host monthly to birthdays, pool and dart leagues, corporate gatherings, fantasy sports drafts, and everything in between. We have two pool tables, 2 dart boards, big screen TV’s and room for plenty of people. Our open concept layout and our floor to ceiling cantilever doors makes it an ideal location to film your next television commercial, television shows, and movies.
